The Baby is now up to a whopping 8 lbs 4.8 oz. This is a weight gain of a mere .4 oz since Tuesday. That's not enough for me although the lactation specialist was pleased (or said so at least). If only Baby would have waited to poop until after she was weighed! I was given a bigger syringe with a feeding tube to replace my Supplemental Nursing System and instructions to fill this baby up with my pumped milk while nursing at the same time all weekend long. Luckily, DH took Children #2 through #4 down to Twin Firs for a weekend of vacuuming, burning, and fishing, so I will have plenty of quiet time with only My Pathetic Doberman and the little girls. We are having cookies for dinner tonight.
It takes only six years for a little baby to get this big! Child #3 was a whole pound lighter than his baby sister six years ago and look at him now! I gave him my two pound hand weights, so he has been going downstairs to the "gym" and lifting weights with his dad.
We were all up insanely early this morning. Child #3 thinks he was awake all night, but didn't wake me up until 4:00 am with his crying. Baby woke up shortly after wanting to look at everything, so I decided to get out of bed with her. At 4:45 am, Child #5 noticed that I was no longer in bed next to her and started crying for me. She refused to go back to sleep, so with three out of four of my small children wide awake I had to give up the night as lost. We watched movies until Child #4 woke up last at his usual 6:00 am. Of course the kids all napped, but I think I will have to have another cup of coffee...
