Exploring the Pond...in January!

Look at this cutie:
S 2004
D 2012

Wait, there's something different about them...

D is about six months older than S in this picture, but he still wears that entire outfit that S is wearing.  We love hand-me-downs!  AND look-alike blue-eyed brothers.

We took IJ, D, The Pathetic Doberman, and The Pirate out for an extended walk this morning in the beautiful sunshine.
We ended up down at the pond when D decided the hole would be a great place to play.  Doesn't he look like he is standing at his own grave? Yes, playing in the hole is a BAD idea.  It's very deep.
Down at the pond, the dogs started playing their favorite game: Mad Dog.  Pathetic Doberman pretends to be all mean and scary with her growling and teeth showing and hair standing up.  She gets Pirate to jump at her, and then they run like crazy.
After Pathetic Doberman got tired, Pirate decided to go for a swim.  We've seen him play and splash in the shallow water...
...but today he swam past the deep water branch...and all the way to the center of the pond.  I was worried that he might not make it back.  Can a person play life-saver to a heavy dog?  IJ stripped off his jacket and boots and was ready to jump in and save him.  But he made it all the way:
And swam across three more times!  He was one happy dog.  After one more round of Mad Dog, he was ready for...
...the Sunny Spot.
