Fast Farm Tour

Every year, the KP farms host a tour.  We went in 2009 and 2011, but haven't returned for several years.  This year, I was determined to at least let the kids pet a horse before they had to go to taekwondo.  So one farm was visited.

Ian is now too old to go on family adventures.  Heidi was too crazy to be near the horses. She loved them and went into a toddler frenzy.  Lula spent the whole time in the van because she didn't have her sparkly shoes on.  I couldn't find them when it was time to leave and I figured she would wear her cute boots because she was so excited to see the horses. Nope. She'd rather kick and scream in the van instead.

But Genevieve, Shane, Fiona, and Daniel got to pet a horse.  And sit on one!

Daniel looks terrified, doesn't he?  He wouldn't let the girls help him get on the back of the horse, only me.  Later, after we got home, he told me he wasn't scared of the horse, he was scared of the girl with the paint on her face.

This farm is a riding barn that teaches vaulting.  We were able to watch a demonstration of vaulting and at first sight, we knew this was Genevieve's activity.  Dance and horses combined? Yes, please!  Lessons are three times a week, two hours per lesson.  The cost is $120 per month.  So although the monthly cost is high, it is actually only $5 per hour.  The other riding school costs $40 per hour, just for riding lessons.

When can she start?
